Welcome to the 2024 – 2025 Training Year!

The Summer is over, kids are back in school, and the weather is starting to change to fall-like conditions. That can only mean one thing; CADETS ARE BACK TO TRAINING!

2943 PPCLI Army Cadets start parading on TUESDAY nights, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM, in the Navy League Hall at 911 – 13th Ave, Campbell River, BC. There is a LOT being planned for this training year, from Field Exercises, Weekend Hikes and Activities, Seasonal Events, and there is a rumour that we may have a big trip planned for the Spring!

Training begins, for returning cadets, on September 10, 2024, where the returning cadets will get a chance to prepare for the upcoming training year, meet new staff, replace out grown uniform parts, and re-engage with their fellow cadets (especially those who attended camps this summer!).

Our first Recruit Night will be on October 8, 2023, where we will welcome new cadets into the Cadets Canada program, and lead them to the adventure that it has been for tens of thousands of Cadets before them. If you are already thinking about joining the Cadets Canada program, you can register online (type in 2943 for the “Unit Name” to ensure you are registering for 2943 PPCLI Army Cadets!); https://registration.cadets.gc.ca/get-started.html

If you are someone who wants to enjoy the outdoors, take part in a wide variety of adventures, take part in Summer Camps across Canada (maybe even experience an adventure overseas!) then we hope to see YOU in October!!!

Cadet Camps – 2023

The 2023 Cadet Summer Camps have been up and running for over a week now, and 2943 Cadets are all over BC and Canada. From Quadra CTC in Comox and Vernon CTC in the Okanagan, to Blackdown CTC in Ontario, Campbell River cadets are proudly representing 2943 PPCLI RCACC!

We are back and into the 2023-2024 Training Year, with a new Commanding Officer and some REALLY exciting training / trips being planned, in September. Official “new cadet” sign-up will be happening the first week of October!

Looking forward to the Spring!

Over the Winter months, we have been keeping ourselves busy with weekend fun like indoor rock climbing and bowling, but we are very much looking forward to the Spring and our second Field Training Exercise (FTX). Much of what Army Cadets is about is training work, live, and survive in the bush and having as much fun as possible while doing it!

Our first Exercise will be late in March, where we will be learning fieldcraft, building a bivouac site, and orieteeting (Map and Compass). Of course, there are always lessons in leadership in everything we do.

In our lead up to this training weekend, our regular training nights have been full of classes teaching everything from what and how to pack for a weekend in the bush, to how to navigate in and out of wilderness.

Exciting times await the Cadets of 2943 PPCLI Army Cadet Corps!

The 2022-23 Cadet Year has begun!

2943 PPCLI Army Cadet Corps is back in action! After a 2 year COVID hiatus from in-person training, the cadets are once again out and about doing training in the classroom and drill hall, to adventures in the woods!

With our doors open once again, we are now actively recruiting to bring in new faces, 12 to18 years of age, who are looking for something more to do with their time than sitting at home and wondering what they are going to do with their free time.

We develop confident, self-sufficient leaders who form lasting friendships and are engaged in their communities while promoting physical fitness, healthy living, and fostering an interest in the activities of the Canadian Armed Forces.
