Over the Winter months, we have been keeping ourselves busy with weekend fun like indoor rock climbing and bowling, but we are very much looking forward to the Spring and our second Field Training Exercise (FTX). Much of what Army Cadets is about is training work, live, and survive in the bush and having as much fun as possible while doing it!
Our first Exercise will be late in March, where we will be learning fieldcraft, building a bivouac site, and orieteeting (Map and Compass). Of course, there are always lessons in leadership in everything we do.
In our lead up to this training weekend, our regular training nights have been full of classes teaching everything from what and how to pack for a weekend in the bush, to how to navigate in and out of wilderness.
Exciting times await the Cadets of 2943 PPCLI Army Cadet Corps!
